Full version going away & Migration
Hi folks,
First, I'd like to thank arcticcajun for bringing the auto-updating balance bug to my attention. That is now fully fixed in the Lite version (not this one).
Sadly, it's very difficult for me to maintain two versions. So I am discontinuing this full version in favor of the Lite one (which won't be called Lite soon). I've made it really easy for you to migrate your bills and income over to the other app. Please follow the steps below. Naturally, you won't have to pay to unlock the full version. Additionally, the first 50 users who migrate will automatically unlock the new Reminders and Web Access feature. You have to migrate if you don't want to pay for the full upgrade. Also, you don't want to miss out on potentially free Reminders!
The new 4.0 version of the other app is fully packed with features. You don't want to miss out!
Edit: Apple seems to have approved this app before the other one. Please hold off on the migration process until 4.0 is out. Feel free to download it so you know when it comes out.
Steps:
1. Download this update.
2. BEFORE opening the updated version, head over to System Settings -> Forecasting and put in your email address. You won't actually receive any email, it's just for the system to be able to identify you.
3. Run the app and wait for it to load. You don't have to do anything past this point. Close the app.
4. Download version 4.0 of "Balance Forecasting w/ Reminders". Make sure it's version 4.0. In case Apple approves this one before the other one, then please wait before going through the migration process.
5. BEFORE you run it, head in the System Settings -> Forecasting and put in the SAME email address you used for the other version.
6. Run the app and head over to More and tap Migrate. At this point, you should have everything ported.
7. If everything was successful, delete this app.
Like I mentioned, you will NOT have to pay for the upgrade. But you will get the message if you have more than 6 items. Go ahead and purchase it (just make sure you don't choose Both when asked). It will then realize you've purchased it.
If you were one of the first 50 to migrate, you automatically have Reminders unlocked. Same with this. You will be asked to purchase it. Go ahead, you won't be charged. Please keep your eye on the website. It will feature the count of Reminder unlocks that are left.
I would also appreciate it if you could rate the other app.

Download which update?
I have updated and synced all my apps although I am little unclear about this migration procedure. I purchased both the lite and full versions, both are synced and both have my email address entered, although only the Lite version is in active use as that is being upgraded, although it is a little frustrating as I have quickly reached the maximum items, so I hope Apple approves the upgrade soon, though I know it can take a couple of weeks.
Once Apple does approve Forecasting 'Lite' 4.0 (but no longer called 'Lite'), should I just update it as usual and will all work fine? I already have the full version, but the "Lite" version does not recognise this so I am still limited.
I think you should drop the Lite version in favor of the paid version since those users have obviously paid and using an app that is unlimited, but are now being encouraged to switch to a version, which I find is limited.
I hope you will still charge for what is a fantastic app, perhaps charge more, however I am still disappointed and therefore still not giving top marks because of one very important feature missing: the option of a negative starting balance.
4.0 is now live
Version 4.0 should now be up.
Re:
Hi,
Yeah, it's taking them a ridiculous amount of time to approve it. If it's not in by Monday, I'll start messaging them.
Once 4.0 is in, there will be a "More" tab where you will have the option to Migrate. This will make it so you can unlock an unlimited number or items and potentially also Reminders & Web Access (if you're one of the first 50 people to migrate). Not to mention the amazing new features that 4.0 has.
Now that I've redesigned how you update the balance, 4.1 will have a way to enter a negative balance.
The reason I decided to stick to the Lite version and have paying for it be optional is because of my personal beliefs as well as to have provide users an opportunity to see if this app is right for them before they buy it. As far as the price, I don't think I'll be charging more for it :) I'm not in it for the money.
